The Es Caló Restaurant opened its doors on the magical island of Formentera in 2012. It is located in a unique setting, in the small cove of Es Caló, outlined by the Mediterranean Sea and the La Mola rock formation.
Concept of the Es Caló Restaurant
The restaurant was opened by a group of restaurant industry professionals who wanted to offer their guests a perfect blend of a unique setting and wonderfully traditional food. Dishes inspired by the tradition of the Balearic Islands, and Formentera in particular, but adapted to more current culinary trends. This project is defined as an opera of flavours, aromas, textures and sensations, which only offers products of the highest quality, in line with the essence of the famous Mediterranean diet. Thanks to this, you can savour unique flavours at its tables, the result of the quality ingredients used for preparing the dishes.
Signature dishes of the restaurant
The restaurant boasts a modern design, aimed to make the most of the spectacular views of the place. Its clean lines and wooden structure invite you to enjoy a carefully selected menu in a truly welcoming atmosphere. There is nothing better than starting with the typical ajoaceite (aioli) of the island and a plate of bitter olives. All of this washed down with a delicious cava sangria, which is one of its flagship drinks. As the main course, there's nothing better than ordering the farmer's salad, made from a rich combination of boiled potato, peix sec (dried fish) and mixed vegetables. As icing on the cake, so to speak, you can end the evening with a classic Greixonera dessert, a kind of flan made with pieces of ensaïmada pastry. A safe bet if you want to enjoy the scenery of Formentera and its cuisine.
