The nautical employers’ association ANEN has issued the “Annual Report on the pleasure craft market 2022”, edited based on the data provided by the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine, which shows the good positioning of nautical tourism throughout 2022.
The nautical sector has registered 5,847 vessel registrations for the 2022 financial year, 14.94% less than in 2021, but complying with the sector’s forecasts and remaining stable throughout the year. The month of December, a month that historically has been registering the lowest registration figures of the year, has improved 31% of registrations with respect to the same month last year.
- Registrations by provinces:
In 2022, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands have been the Autonomous Communities with the greatest nautical activity, with market shares of 19.7% and 18.5%, respectively. Being the registrations of charter boats, three out of every ten units registered in the Balearic Islands.
In the charter market there has also been an improvement in recreational boat registrations of 1.24% compared to 2021. Where also in the month of December it has been especially positive with an increase in registrations of 125%.
